This meticulously crafted simulation brings the legendary reconnaissance and light attack helicopter to life with unparalleled accuracy and detail. Fly low through challenging terrains, utilizing the Kiowa Warrior’s advanced sensor suite and weaponry to dominate the battlefield. With its authentic flight dynamics, interactive cockpits, and realistic mission scenarios, the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior offers an immersive experience for both seasoned pilots and newcomers alike. Whether you’re conducting reconnaissance missions or providing aerial support to ground units, the Kiowa Warrior delivers a truly thrilling and tactical flying experience.

Step into the cockpit of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior alone or in multicrew with a friend to share the adventure. The module features a highly detailed 3D model, complete with functioning avionics, MFDs, and a working Mast-Mounted Sight. Utilize the Level 2 Manned-Unmanned System to view aerial drone footage, or scan the battlefield using the sensors of other Kiowa Warriors. Share targets with the Improved Data Modem or call in Remote Hellfire Missions with other Kiowa pilots to coordinate attacks. With a wide range of weaponry available including AGM-114K Hellfires, FIM-92 Air-To-Air Stinger missiles and laser-guided rockets the Kiowa Warrior is prepared for any engagement.

The OH-58D first flew in 1983 and was the result of the Army Helicopter Improvement Program as a single engine, four-bladed light weight helicopter. The Kiowa Warrior introduced the distinctive Mast-Mounted Sight (MMS) above the main rotor, and a mixed glass cockpit with traditional instruments – and as such was the first helicopter equipped with MFDs.

While the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior thrives in its reconnaissance role, making full use of its iconic MMS and a Level 2 Manned-Unmanned System (L2MUM), in more recent conflicts it played a pivotal role not only in gathering critical intelligence but also in actively supporting ground troops through precision strikes on enemy positions, illustrating its adaptability and effectiveness in both reconnaissance and offensive missions.

Armed with a vast array of weapons including AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, a .50 caliber FN M3P machine gun, FIM-92 Air-To-Air Stinger missiles and a large selection of rocket types including laser guided Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS), the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior is capable of fulfilling a meaningful role by itself or by supporting other assets in DCS World.

Kiowa Warriors serving in the US Army took part in a number of operations, including:

  • Operation Prime Chance 1988
  • Operation Just Cause 1989
  • Desert Storm 1991
  • RAID 1989 – 1994
  • Peace Implementation Forces (IFOR) 1995 – 1996
  • Operation Enduring Freedom
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom

The US Army retired the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior in 2017 having accumulated over 800,000 combat hours. It continues to serve with the armed forces of Croatia, Greece, Taiwan and Tunisia to this day.

FAQ

What version of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior is portrayed by the module?

OH-58D(R) CDS4, dating from around 2016. However, the mission editor has access to options to customize the aircraft to represent older airframes with systems such as AN/ALQ-144 Infra-red Countermeasures, the Pilot Display Unit and the removal of the Mast Mounted Sight.

Yes

The Improved Data Modem (IDM) is a similar system that allows for transmission of data between player aircraft. This includes but is not limited to the following features: Free-text Messaging, Target Sharing and Remote Hellfire Missions. The OH-58D is also equipped with the Level 2 Manned-Unmanned System (L2MUMS) which allows for video and data transmission between player controlled OH-58Ds and AI UAVs.

$69,99 USD

No, we are a small company and looking to expand. Due to the long development time we have no financial headroom to participate in any sales at this moment.

Currently the module has an AI pilot as opposed to the George like AI co-pilot as seen on Eagle Dynamics AH-64 Apache. The AI pilot is capable of performing basic tasks such as take-off, hover, follow flight plan, land and much more. The AI pilot uses a symplefied flight model in order to make it more reliable and do as it is told. The AI pilot allows you to basically take the left seat and work the sensors. The AI pilot is by no means a necessity as due to how the keybinds are set up, you should be capable of flying the aircraft on your own after getting some flight hours in.

No, the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior has released as mission ready with all systems implemented and functional. We do not consider the module to be an early access title.

An M3P .50-caliber machine gun, various 2.75 inch rockets (including laser guided APKWS), AGM-114K Hellfire, Air-To-Air-Stinger missiles and the trusty M4 carbine on the dash.

Yes.

The OH-58D has an Optical Display Assembly (ODA) (also referred to as Anvis Display Symbology System – ADSS) which is a helmet mounted sight for use with Night Vision Goggles. Optionally the Pilot Display Unit (PDU) can be installed which provides a limited HUD for weapons symbology.

Yes – the Personal Computer Data Transfer System (PC-DTS) is a data cartridge system that can save and load data to/from a JSON file. The saved data includes Routes, Waypoints, Target Points, Radio frequencies, Notepad data and more.

No, sadly it has not. While it seemed like a great idea back in 2019, the implications of having to support and maintain 30+ assets indefinitely have the potential to become a burden on our small team.

Yes and user feedback on its implementation have been nothing but positive.

The flight model (and all other areas of development) of the OH-58D has undergone a rigorous testing process with both our internal SMEs and those from Eagle Dynamics. During the entire development process we have had access to – and direct feedback from – experienced Kiowa pilots and crew chiefs who contribute directly to the validation of the flight model and systems of the OH-58D.
